Characteristics of successful training
For a football-specific workout to be successful, it is important that it meets a few conditions.
Here are the most important ones:
  • Stimulate intelligence and creativity;
  • To be as varied as possible;
  • Be motivational in order to get players 100% involved in the training process;
  • Have simple rules that are clearly explained;
  • Not to be routine in the training process;
  • The difficulty of the exercises should increase progressively;
  • Be dynamic;
 

 
  • Workouts should be demanding but flexible, those in the training process should be aware that they have to work, to be involved in the training;
  • Exercises should be specific and include as many situations as possible that the player will encounter in the game of football;
  • Ensure that there will be adequate warming up of the body in training, proper hydration and finally stretching exercises;
  • Communication in training: don't offer the solution directly, ask questions to make the player think;
  • The difficulty of the exercises should be adapted to the players' level of understanding and ability;
  • No explanation without demonstration;
  • The intensity of the training and the number of repetitions should be adapted to the player
