Shooting drill – Finishing on goal
Equipment required: cones, slalom poles, footballs.
Number of players: 8–12 players + 1 goalkeeper.
Drill description

Set up the equipment as shown in the diagram.
Each player A starts with a ball at their feet.

Player A passes the ball to player B (1).

Player B makes a forward run between the slalom poles (I).

Player B plays a short return pass to player A (2).

Player A sprints towards the ball (II) and plays a through pass to player B (3) into space (III).

Player B receives the ball and finishes the action with a shot on goal (4).
The next player A restarts the sequence by passing towards player C, so the drill alternates left and right.
Players rotate positions in alphabetical order.
Progression I

Player A passes the ball to player B (1).

Player B receives the ball between the slalom poles (I).

Player B dribbles through the poles (2) and then plays a forward pass to player A (3) into space (II).

Player A receives the ball and finishes with a shot on goal (4).
The next player A continues the drill by starting towards player C, alternating left–right.
Players rotate positions in alphabetical order.
Progression II

Player A passes the ball to player B (1).

Player B receives the ball between the slalom poles (I).

Player B plays a short pass back to player A (2).

Player A sprints towards the ball (II) and delivers a through pass to player D (3) into space (III).

Player D receives the ball and finishes with a shot on goal (4).
After finishing, player D remains at the free cone (IV) to continue the exercise from the opposite side (the next sequence will have player C finishing on goal).
