Exercise of the week (6)

For this week, we have prepared an exercise to train transitions specific to the game of football.

Required equipment:

  • cones, 4 small goals.
 


Exercise description:

Two identical playing areas will be set up as shown in the image. The dimensions of the areas will depend on the characteristics of the players for whom the exercise is applied.

A small goal will be placed in the middle of each side of the large area.

Inside the small area, a 4 vs 2 game will be played. Inside the large area, there will be 4 players, who will form a team with the two players from the small area.

The game starts with 4 vs 2 in the small area and transitions into 6 vs 4 at the moment when one of the two players in the small area wins the ball.

When the 6 vs 4 game begins, the objective is for the six players to complete a number of passes (set by the coach), after which they will attempt to score in one of the four small goals. The four players in numerical inferiority will try to block the six from putting the ball into the goal.

If the six do not manage to complete the number of passes imposed by the coach and the four players regain possession, the latter will then try to play the ball into the goal.

The game continues in this manner until someone manages to score a goal.

The two players who start the game in the 4 vs 2 area will be rotated periodically.
